Completely self-taught, Mark started his photography career shooting motorsport all over England and Europe, before becoming a senior Formula 1 photographer – the only Irish photographer to do so. After leaving F1 behind for a life back in Ireland, the travel Mark now does has influenced his venture into panoramic photography.
Mark was one of a handful of photographers in Ireland shooting panoramic images on film using specific panoramic cameras & lenses made by Hasselblad. Up until 2017 Fuji Velvia50 film was the format Mark always chose when out looking for potential new landscape images.
Following the prohibitive increase in film costs and the introduction of a digital style of true panoramic Fuji camera, Mark now shoots all his panoramic photographs in the digital format.
Revisiting certain locations over & over if possible, and waiting on the right lighting conditions means that if and when the incredible light occurs, Mark is ready to capture it.
